Association Fosters Peer-to-Peer Executive Networking and Thought Leadership, Delivering Unprecedented Professional Services Industry Benchmarks and Sharing of Best Practices
SAN DIEGO, October 3, 2006 – In just over a year, the Technology Professional Services Association (TPSA) has become a major industry force by mobilizing the technology professional services (PS) community and providing a platform for collaboration and exchange of information that did not previously exist in the industry.
“TPSA has delivered on our mission to provide members the information, concepts, models, and best practices required for success in this critical component of the technology marketplace,” said Thomas Lah, TPSA Executive Director. “The number of highly respected companies who’ve elected to participate in TPSA is the greatest testimonial to the value our members are receiving. We launched last year with 20 founding members and we now have 60 member companies spanning numerous market segments including software, hardware, networking, security, Web services, storage, on-demand, integrators and VARs.”
Since its founding in September 2005, TPSA has created task forces that address the industry’s most complex and pressing business challenges including defining and defending the total economic impact of services, intellectual asset management, and Vendor Specific Objective Evidence (VSOE).
“TPSA has proven to be a beneficial forum for collaborating and learning from one another as we face the challenges of effectively delivering IT professional services in a continually evolving market,” said Una O’Neill, senior vice president for CA Technology Services and a member of the TPSA Advisory Board. “The collective wisdom of TPSA members is helping CA and all member organizations better meet the needs of customers who are increasingly dependent on service providers to achieve their business objectives.”
At the core of the TPSA program portfolio is its Benchmark Study. For the first time, industry-specific data allows members to make informed decisions and set realistic expectations enabling them to manage and grow their PS businesses faster.
Another program, the TPSA Service Strategy Board, led by Thomas Lah, noted author Geoffrey Moore, and executives from TPSA member companies, is currently defining appropriate services strategies based on the technology models that member companies are pursuing.
In April 2006, the association held its inaugural Summit which drew more than 150 senior executives from leading technology companies. The first TPSA Executive Forum on the topic of “The Globalization of the PS Workforce” was presented in June 2006 at The Ohio State University. As TPSA moves into its second year, the association will build on these successes and will offer an aggressive agenda of twice-yearly Summits, Executive Forums and PS Roundtables, significantly expanding opportunities for industry peers to meet and interact. The TPSA fall Summit, “Aligning Professional Services,” will be held November 12-14 in Washington, D.C.
