World-Renowned Academics Join Professional Services Industry Leaders to Discuss Challenges and Opportunities in China and India
SAN DIEGO, May 9th, 2006 – The Technology Professional Services Association (TPSA) has announced its first Executive Forum, “The Globalization of the PS Workforce.” Providing an in-depth look at the issues surrounding the globalization of the professional services workforce, with a special focus on India and China, the Executive Forum will be held on June 7, 2006, at Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business in Columbus, Ohio.
Executive participants from leading technology professional services organizations will discuss opportunities to leverage resources in India and China to deliver professional services engagements in North America, and the issues faced when using offshore resources to deliver services that may require onshore presence. The Forum will also provide an overview of the unique legal, tax, and management issues faced when globalizing service delivery.
“TPSA is uniquely positioned on the front of new challenges facing today’s technology professional services organizations, and the globalization of the services workforce is clearly one of those challenges,” said Thomas Lah, Executive Director of TPSA.
“What started as outsourcing of IT support has matured into offshore delivery of complex services engagements. This Forum has been designed to help PS executives master sophisticated delivery models that leverage expertise from anywhere in the world, as well as recognize the competitive landscape that’s emerging,” added Lah.
In addition to Lah, featured speakers include Oded Shenkar, Ford Motor Company Chair in Global Business Management at the Fisher College of Business; and Mohan Sawhney, Tribune Professor of Technology and Director, Center for Research in Technology and Innovation, Kellogg School of Management.
Structured to maintain a focused, intimate environment that is conducive to interaction, limited enrollments are now being accepted for the TPSA Executive Forum. The Forum begins with a networking dinner on the evening of June 6 and formal session on June 7. Registration information can be found at www.tpsaonline.com under Events.
