Panel sessions on a variety of topics provide unique opportunities for candid discussions in technology services.
SAN DIEGO, May 5, 2009 – A variety of panel sessions were included on today's agenda at Technology Services World 2009 (TSW), the three-day technology services conference being held May 4-6 in Silicon Valley. Co-hosted by AFSMI, SSPA, and TPSA–the three leading professional associations of the technology services and support industry–TSW conveys late-breaking developments, industry trends, and tried-and-true solutions to today's toughest services challenges.
In addition to keynote and breakout presentations, a number of panel sessions were held today, offering rich and focused discussions on the hottest topics and trends in the industry. The panels allowed for multiple viewpoints, audience involvement, and lively discussions:
CIO Perspectives Panel. Ex-CIOs offered their perspectives on what enterprises need from their services providers in an economic downturn, what motivates organizations to spend money when funding is tight, and how technology buying behaviors are changing.
SSPA SMB Community of Interest Report Out. This discussion focused on the challenges and opportunities faced by SMB companies serving the enterprise marketplace. Senior leaders across the SMB spectrum shared how they are delivering innovative and superior service in this tough economic environment.
Service Science and Services Innovation: How to Drive a Significant Economic Return. Attendees discovered how corporations, governments, and academic institutions are working together to drive results that benefit their bottom lines, as well as cutting-edge projects that are currently in the works.
The Consume Stage in the SaaS Cycle: Realizing the Value. This panel of top executives from SaaS companies covered the rise of SaaS and the implications of supporting customers using this platform.
Women in Services: Profiles of Success. This lively discussion featured leading women in services who have achieved leadership positions with some of the industry's top companies.
"Our panel discussions at TSW are designed to engage multiple perspectives on some of the most difficult challenges facing our industry," said Thomas Lah, executive director of TPSA. "Where else can you go and hear leading academics debate the future of services science, and then hear former CIOs provide candid comments on why so many services providers are simply not considered strategic to the customer's success?"
