Global resource management and knowledge-centered support prove to be key topics for technology services conference attendees.
SAN DIEGO, May 4, 2009 – Two pre-conference professional development programs kicked off the learning sessions at Technology Services World (TSW) 2009 today in Silicon Valley. TSW, being held May 4-6, is the premier technology services conference of the year, co-hosted by the three leading professional associations of the services and support industry—AFSMI, SSPA, and TPSA. Service and support experts have converged for this three-day event to discover the traditional tactics for improving services efficiencies and key techniques for creating breakthrough improvements in service economics.
The two pre-conference professional development courses were held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today with presenters Mark Sloan, COO of RTM Consulting, and David Kay principal of DB Kay and Associates. Sloan's presentation on "Global Resource Management" provided attendees an understanding of the global resource management (GRM) process, a comprehensive review of GRM principles, and a foundation on which they can develop a GRM adoption/execution plan for their own organizations. Sloan is considered an industry pioneer with respect to defining and deploying global resource management processes.
In Kay's session on "Implementing Knowledge-Centered Support," attendees discovered how to implement a proven best practice for knowledge management, maintain knowledge without slow and expensive review queues, and increase internal efficiency and self-service effectiveness. Kay is an expert in the areas of knowledge management, self-service, feedback management, and collaboration.
Technology Services World is the primary source of learning in services and support during these economic times. More information on this event can be found at www.technologyservicesworld.com. The Technology Services World blog — http://technologyservicesworld.wordpress.com — will be up and running throughout the event.
