TPSA Europe Service 20 Results Follow Global Trends

SAP Tops List of Annual Performance Analysis of 20 of the Most Influential Solution Providers in Europe

SAN DIEGO, CA, February 26, 2009 – The Technology Professional Services Association (TPSA) today announced the results of its annual aggregation of the financial performance of The Europe Service 20, twenty of the most influential technology solution providers in the European marketplace.

TPSA analyzes the public financial data of these companies to understand trends and performance in the technology services industry. TPSA identifies the highest performing service businesses based on several factors, including margin efficiency, a measure of the ability of companies to convert service margin dollars to operating income. The four highest performing companies in The Europe Service 20 for 2008 were:

1. SAP
2. Dassault Systems
3. Cable and Wireless
4. SAGE

In general, European technology service providers followed the trends TPSA has been tracking in The Service 50 and other proprietary industry datasets. “The European technology providers, like their counterparts in North America, weathered 2008 surprisingly well,” said TPSA executive director Thomas Lah. In 2008, European professional services providers did an outstanding job of maintaining billable rates and minimizing discounting. However three global trends are now impacting technology solution providers in the region: declining product revenues, pricing pressure on certain services offerings, and the overall pressure to reduce services delivery cost structures. “European technology services providers will be extremely motivated to revise both offering and delivery models in 2009,” said Lah.

Thomas is known worldwide for his expertise in technology professional services. He will deliver several sessions at the Technology Services Europe 2009 conference in Barcelona, April 1-3. Thomas also reports on technology professional services trends on his popular Lah’s ServiceVisions blog at http://thomaslah.wordpress.com.
